The Friends of Nantucket Public Schools is a 501(c)3 non-profit whose purpose is to promote quality education for the children of Nantucket’s public schools through fundraising efforts, community events and enrichment opportunities. As Nantucket’s premier Parent Teacher Organization, FONPS strives to put its efforts towards serving the greatest needs within our school community, in addition to offering unique opportunities to our students not otherwise offered through the school system. We strive to be creative when it comes to meeting the needs of Nantucket’s public schools. We are inclusive of all the students, parents and staff within the Nantucket school community.
The FONPS board develops goals and strategies annually, which always include fundraising events and initiatives. The events are listed on the 'Our Events' page and these events continue to change and develop annually. The money raised at these events allows FONPS to contribute funds towards staff initiated needs, school materials, enrichment events and grants and scholarships. The volunteers who carry out our programs are the the backbone of
FONPS hosts a number of fundraising events per year. Each event has a unique focus. These events help raise money for a multitude of needs within our school district, including grants and scholarships, enrichment events, and staff initiated funding. We encourage you to attend or get involved in one of our fundraising events. They are a wonderful way to meet other parents, have fun, and help your child’s school receive funding.
