About Friends of Nantucket Public Schools
A Little History...
Started in the early 1980’s by Charron “Corky” Ranney, a mother of five and a new arrival to life on Nantucket, FONPS has been serving the needs of the Nantucket Public Schools for over 30 years. In that time, the FONPS board has shifted and changed along with the needs of the schools. The FONPS original slogan “More than a PTA” sums up the belief that the organization is willing to meet the changing needs within our school system.
Support our Students
The students of today are the leaders of tomorrow. The Friends of Nantucket Public Schools is dedicated to providing our young people with the tools they need for success. Our outreach endeavors include many programs designed to support children in getting the most out of their educational experience. We proudly support the Nantucket Public School community.

The Board meets the second Wednesday of every month at 6 PM in Room 104B of Nantucket High School (located at 10 Surfside Road).
